Installing Your Desktop Phone
LAN IP Netphone (only) Quick Install Guide
Unpack your IP phone, power adapter, handset and Ethernet (RJ45) cable.
Your IP phone should be configured and programmed on arrival. If not please contact customerservices@telfree.co.za
Connect the Ethernet cable to the LAN port on the IP phone and to your network interface. Next, connect the handset to the base unit and finally, connect the power adapter to the IP phone and to a wall outlet. Once the power is connected, your IP phone will automatically boot and check the pre-loaded firmware.
Once the process is complete, the display should read "Ready for call". If it displays "Wait Logon" you may need to make network setting changes to the phone. Press the SET/OK button twice to display "Use DHCP 1[enable]" (note: enabled is the default setting). If your network uses DHCP then press the UP button until the display shows "Local IP" and record the IP address.
If your network uses static addressing, then at the "Use DHCP 1[enable]" display press the SET/OK button, then the 0 button and then the SET/OK button again. The display should now read "Use DHCP 0[disable]" . Press the UP button until the display shows Local IP 0.0.0.0 and press the SET/OK button and input the IP address to be assigned to the phone (use the * button in place of the period). Again press the SET/OK button to display the new IP address. Then press the ESC button twice and the display should read "Save To Flash?" Finally press SET/OK and the phone will reboot and save the new settings.
Once the phone displays reads "Ready for call" the IP Phone is ready to make and receive calls.
